Every once in awhile a session comes along that just makes my heart sing, and Greg & Amanda’s maternity session definitely falls into that category! Amanda was as excited for their session as I was (I love it when that happens!) and was up for pretty much anything, which meant changing on the fly, yoga, and getting in the water.

We met at Lakeside Park and did couple portraits in the park area before heading down to the beach for more artistic images.  Last-minute inspiration had hit me right before their session, so I whipped up a maternity gown during my daughter’s nap that afternoon (thank goodness for naps!) and those beach images are some of my favourites.  I also love the series of yoga poses by the water – they speak to me in terms of the peace and stillness before your little one arrives.  Even through the excitement and anxious waiting for their arrival, there is a stillness that is only interrupted by the kicks and jabs (usually under your ribs when you’re trying to find a comfy position to sleep!) of your babe testing their boundaries and the world around them.

Thank you to both of you for helping to create one of my favourite portrait maternity sessions to date.  You guys got me excited about maternity photography again (stay tuned to the blog and Facebook for more news about that in the coming weeks!) and I look forward to meeting your little one soon!
